Lacy Mitchell
Hi, my name is Lacy, and I am so excited to be part of Myers-Davis Life Coaching and Disability Services, serving clients through the Ticket-To-Work and Supported Employment programs.
A 2002 graduate of River Valley High School (now Hillcrest) at Strawberry in Lawrence County, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro in 2007.
For more than a decade, I worked at The Times Dispatch newspaper in Walnut Ridge followed by the Batesville Guard until 2018, where I wrote stories that reached both national and international audiences.
After a stint in banking, I found I missed connecting with people. Born with Cerebral Palsy, I always say, “People don’t know what they don’t know,” and Ticket to Work and Supported Employment are among the programs they should, because they helped me personally get to where I am and become the success I am today.
A self-proclaimed “homebody,” I love flea markets, antiques and thrifting items for my real-life dollhouse in Cave City, attending concerts, including those performed by my better half, Rockin’ Luke Stroud, a piano player, as well as spending time together with our dogs, Sam, 4, and Nellie, 11, where at home, they think they rule; and, they do. We’re just happy to get to live there.
