The Heart of a Winner

I suppose we would have to say that most successful people are winners – to one degree or another – because they don’t give up when things get tough. They keep striving with a positive and optimistic attitude for what’s important to them.

“The heart of a Champion is a rare commodity. Everyone wants it, but very few are willing to earn it. The heart of a champion makes you chase after your dreams, even when it seems the world is against you. The heart of a champion pushes on and never gives up, even when your body is shattered and your limbs numb. The heart of a champion urges you to keep believing in yourself even when the goal is out of sight.  The heart of a champion is an inspiration to others who follow their own dreams…an inspiration to push on through…when quitting is an easy way out.”  -Olaf Schaum

Someone else put it this way: “Never does one fall without showing signs of heart trouble.” And Solomon wrote, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (Prov. 4:23). Then, Jesus says:

“A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what’s in your heart.” (Lk. 6:45, NLT)

So, it’s ‘stick-to-itiveness’ no matter what; with singleness of purpose. Through thick and thin, and never say die…hold on to all you’ve got!

“If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew…and so hold on when there is nothing in you, except the will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’ Yours is the earth and everything that’s in it,  And – what’s more – you will be a [champion!]”  (-with apologies to Rudyard Kipling)

"The heart of a Champion is a rare commodity. Everyone wants it, but very few are willing to earn it." So what do we do? We hold on to all we've got!
