Life Skills Training Center
What if we lived in a world where people with disabilities were actually taught valuable skills during a program?
That’s happening all right here, in beautiful Batesville, Arkansas.
Myers-Davis has opened a vocational/life skills training center designed to provide training to people with developmental and/or behavioral disabilities in life skills, job skill development, and community transition services. The goal of the training center is to assist adults with disabilities to achieve maximum independence and productivity. Training is provided on life skills, vocational/job skills, independent living skills including community integration, self-advocacy, job exploration, work readiness, and work simulations. Education methods include classes, guest speakers, job simulations, and prospectively employment provided for which training participants will be paid.
Topics for training may include any of the following:

- Resource and Medication Management
- Self-care
- Household Maintenance
- Budgeting/Money Management
- Health
- Wellness
- Nutrition
- Socialization
- Community Integration

The Skills Training Center has established a line of all-natural products, under the name “Happy Made Goods”. They started with Goat’s Milk Bar Soaps and now have expanded into beef tallow products, bath products, herbal balms, and other personal care products. A Day in the Center
Center students engage in a variety of custom-structured activities that may include vocational and life skill building, community outings, volunteer experiences, recreational and wellness activities, and opportunities to explore personal interests and talents. Throughout each day, students have opportunities to practice teamwork, follow routines, and make choices. Our supportive environment encourages students to learn, connect with others, and celebrate their achievements while working toward meaningful goals. At Myers-Davis, every day is about more than staying busy. It’s about building skills, creating opportunities, and empowering our students to live fuller, more independent lives.
Our Skills Training Center is located in our 1st floor suite of our main office located at 1141 E. Main St. Suite 102, Batesville, AR 72501. There will be 2 separate classes based on participant age.
