DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS (DSP)

About the role:
Reporting to any applicable Direct Care Supervisor and Waiver Services Director, the Direct Support Professional will participate in the team approach toward accomplishing the goal of Community Based Services associated with the Waiver program through the Arkansas Division of Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS). The person in this role shall provide person-centered care to the people we support with intellectual & developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the assessment, development, and implementation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
- Maintaining all required records and data according to the ISP.
- Logging documentation/time on a daily basis accurately and appropriately in a web-based software.
- Facilitating functional community integration including accompanying the client into the community to engage in recreational activities.
- Providing training and functional habilitative/support services to our client.
- Applying positive programming with non-invasive techniques.
- Assisting in obtaining the necessary supports to ensure continuity of services.
- Participating in required training courses (could be via different method such as in-person, Zoom, or online through a learning management system), special activities, and staff meetings.
- Providing instruction, monitoring, prompting, and scheduling of daily activities/routines. This can include meal planning/prep, personal hygiene, maintaining a clean home environment, waking on time/following schedules, taking medication accurately, financial management, etc.
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
