Supported Employment

Employment Services for People with Disabilities

This program provides opportunity for adults with disabilities who need individualized support to secure and retain a job. Myers-Davis has a provider partnership through Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS) to provide these services to qualified individuals.

For clients capable of working 15 to 20 hours each week, Myers-Davis applies a person-centered approach to secure Competitive Integrated Employment. This means clients will obtain a job typically found within the community setting, paid at the state minimum wage or above. This allows the client to interact with other people who do not have a disability. Services are custom tailored consistent with the unique strengths, abilities, interests, and informed choice of the client.

Depending on which service the client qualifies for as determined by ARS, we are able to go through a thorough discovery process to get to know each client. We can also take the time for job sampling and job shadowing to help our clients understand the types of programs that are available to them and allow them to show us what they can do. We provide on-the-job supports, or job coaching if our clients need that service when they begin the job; and we follow up with them for the long term to help provide job stability.

Supported Employment

Supported Employment (SE) services enable individuals with significant disabilities who may need job coach support to become employed and keep employment. SE services are accomplished in four (4) milestone stages:

Employment First (E1st)

Employment First (E1st) service is determining an individual’s preferences, interests, needs, and skills/supports (PINS) to assist with finding a job of their choice. This service does not provide on-the-job support from a job coach. E1st service is accomplished in four (4) Benchmark stages:

Job Placement

Job Placement service assists individuals with disabilities who are ready to work without additional supports to find employment. Job Placement service is accomplished in two (2) milestone stages:

Provider Partnership with Arkansas Rehabilitation Services

This is made possible by a provider partnership through Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS). ARS is under Workforce Services (DWS), a Division of the Arkansas Department of Commerce. Myers-Davis serves the entire state of Arkansas with this program.
