“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that counts. It’s the life in your years.” -Abraham Lincoln
Come jump on this exciting roller coaster and learn more about me! My name is Owen Benjamin, I started off with Myers Davis as a DSP in January of 2024. I originally started off as just part time to help out when needed. Let’s skip ahead to July of 2024, this is when I found out how rapidly the company was growing so I accepted a position as a DCS.
I have been working in this field of work for about 10 years, a month out of high school I instantly fell in love with it. Since I began working in this field, I have always been highly involved. I have always been highly active with the Special Olympics, United we dance, and have done much work with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to put on various events for the community.
I took a break and was only doing part time work with people with just disabilities to work more on the mental health side of things for about 4 years. I also did a lot of work with autism (ABA). I was a Recreational therapist, and then director of admissions and marketing. I specialized in effective communication/verbal de-escalation. I was an instructor for both the Handle with care behavioral health management system, and SAMA behavioral health management system. I really enjoyed these times, but still didn’t fill like I was completely following my calling, so I went back to school for EMS. I loved helping others, and I knew that my calling was to help others. Unfortunately, even with EMS I still felt as if I was missing something. That is when I started working at Myers Davis Life Coaching. My heart couldn’t be more fulfilled even if I tried. I truly appreciate the opportunity that I was given to be a part of such a magnificent company, actually it’s not a company it’s truly the definition of a family.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two gorgeous daughters 3 and 4 years old. They….I mean We enjoy dress up, tea parties, watching the same cartoon movie 4-6 times a day, and all the other wonderful things that they come up with in their minds. All-in-all truly two beautiful blessings.
